I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Behavior,
Ecology, Evolution and Systematics Program (BEES) at the University of Maryland, College
Park. Advisor:
Dr. Margaret Palmer
I am interested in how energy flows in the form of food, nutrients, and detritus across habitat boundaries can drive ecosystem dynamics. Specifically, I study food webs and ecosystem processes in watersheds where terrestrial-aquatic energy flows are affected by agriculture and urbanization. My dissertation employs three case studies:
1.) Role of herbaceous leaf detritus as a basal food resource for open-canopy headwater streams
2.) Linkage between emerging aquatic insects and generalist ground spiders in agro-ecosystems
